An Angel of Music: Exiled Hearts 1 by Dracona Dragillin Gargoyles isn't mine but the rest are mine. Yes, I'm bringing the show into this one. Happy? Hannah began to settle in. David Xanatos, a billionaire industrialist who had contolling interest in her recording company, had invited her to stay with him while she was touring around New York. She had to do several concerts, publicity events, etc. Xanatos did this because Apollo's Lyre was such a big hit. Their first album already went platinum and the second was heading there quickly. And for most of this time, she'd be separated from Eric. She missed him already. The night before she left, they spent alone and her body was still covered with the bruises and bite marks. Hannah laughed to herself. Lately Eric was getting more adventurous and was worrying less about hurting her. But he was still so gentle with her. Fox, Xanatos' wife, was going on a shopping trip with her. They had bought several outfits and now were in Victoria's Secret. Fox was trying on much more racier items: red, black, skimpy, leather, etc. Hannah was trying on more conservative yet elegant lingerie. She had found a long nightgown that was so pale pink that it was almost white. It had spaghetti shoulder straps and went down to her ankles. It fit perfectly. The nightgown accentuated her curves. Hannah bought it. 'I can always wear it for Eric when I get back,' she thought. "You look good in that." Fox's comment broke Hannah out of her daze. "You know what," Hannah said, "I think I'll buy it. "You going to wear that for the mysterious Eric Soir?" Fox teased. Hannah turned and bright shade of pink. She mumbled a quick "maybe". "Are we ever going to meet Mr. Soir?" "I doubt it, Fox. Eric's very shy and hates the limelight. He tries to avoid it so much that he almost antisocial. But he's a really nice person, once you get to know him." Hannah tried to avoid the subject by ducking out to purchase the nightgown. Hannah turned to Fox, "I also want to stop at FAO Schwartz. I promised my daughter that I'd get her a present." "You have a daughter?" "I adopted a little girl. I keep her out of the media's reach. Anne's very special and I don't want her getting hurt." -------------------------------------------------------------------- "I still don't like this idea!" Janelle watched Eric pace back and forth. It was a few minutes past sunset and he was already worried. "Look Eric, it's only for a few weeks. As a celebrity, Hannah has to do things like this." "But what if she's not safe in the Eyrie Building? How is their security?" Janelle didn't answer. She knew that no matter what she answered Eric wouldn't be satisfied. So Janelle just let him pace. Darryl had avoided Eric by going out to get dinner. But she didn't blame his nervousness. Gargoyles protected, that was their nature. But he could not protect Hannah, his human mate or Anne, their adopted gargoyle daughter. Anne was staying with Aunt Mary and Uncle Jack in Maine. Anne had become a cheerful, chatty and totally charming little girl. She was told what happened to her clan and she accepted Eric and Hannah as her adopted parents. And everyone just loved her. ------------------------------------------------------------------ After their shopping trip which lasted past sunset, Hannah stopped by the hotel with Fox. She told Fox to wait out in the living room when she went into Eric's bedroom. When she got inside, no one was there. Then she heard a slightly husky voice. "Are you alone?" "Not exactly, someone's waiting outside for me but I just had to see you." Hannah felt Eric's warm taloned hands touch her back. "I missed you too," he said while kissing her neck. Hannah turned around and they both began to kiss each other. Eric's wings wrapped around her. His hands were exploring her. Hannah broke away from Eric. "We don't have time but I wish we did." He smiled at her. Eric softly kissed her lips again. They continued the kiss until there was a knock on the door. "Hannah, are you ready to go?" asked Fox who was in the other room. Hannah quickly kissed Eric and reluctantly left. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Owen stood waiting for them as Fox and Hannah got back. "Miss Trenen, some woman, who says that she's your Aunt Mary, has been frantically calling for the last two hours. She said that she's at home. And she said that it was an emergency." Hannah frantically grabbed Owen's cellular phone. "Hello Aunt Mary," Hannah's voice was full of panic. "Oh God! Hannah, something horrible has happened." Hannah could her Aunt Mary practically sobbing over the phone. "What happened?" Now Aunt Mary really started to cry. Hannah barely could make out what she was saying. "The Quarrymen...they came, they came...they trashed our house...they hurt Jack...and they took Anne." Then Aunt Mary burst into tears. "Where did they take Anne?" "I'm not sure...maybe to their Headquarters here in Maine...I just don't know..." "How's Uncle Jack?" "Bruised and hurt but he'll be okay." "Take care of Uncle Jack. We'll get Anne back." Hannah handed the phone back to Owen and walked away. --------------------------------------------------------------- Janelle got off the phone with Hannah and explained what happened to Eric and Darryl. "WHAT! You just let her go off to Maine alone!" "NO! Of course not! But there's no stopping Hannah when she's determined and she's already on her way there. She was calling from her celluar phone from her car. Besides there's no way of knowing where they're keeping Anne." Eric's eyes were glowing white. "We'd better go to the headquarters in New York and find out whatever we can." They got ready. Eric then glided to the NewYork Headquarters with Janelle in his arms and Darryl on his back. They reached the roof of the building and landed. After Eric ripped the door to the roof off, they entered. "We'd better split up," Eric quietly said, "We'll have a better chance of finding out where Anne is." They went their separate ways. Janelle went down a dark hallway. All of the sudden, someone grabbed her from behind. Janelle struggled with them and managed to throw her attacker off. She turned around and saw the Quarryman. He got up quickly. Throwing all of his weight he lunged for her. But she dodged him, which sent him stumbling past her. "You're one of the freak loving bitches from that band." he cursed. "And proud of it." The Quarryman tried to grab her again but this time Janelle was really angry. She let him come close and then...rammed her knee into his crotch as hard as she could. He fell to the floor with an almost humorous moan. Janelle glowered at him. "Now, you biggoted son of a bitch, where is the gargoyle child?" She paused as she grabbed his hair through his mask. After giving it a good yank, she continued, "And make it fast because I've got PMS and I'm feeling really impatient." The Quarryman began to half sob half scream his answer. But Janelle gleaned enough from his babblings. Anne was in Maine and the Quarrymen were ready for anyone who tried to rescue her. Janelle still had a hold on the Quarryman's hair. She then shoved her knee into his chest and let go of his hair. He collapsed and fell down. She was about ready to leave when she heard a female voice yell, "Stop! Police!" Janelle sighed and put her hands up. 'Of course, they're probably paying off the cops too,' she thought, 'so you're probably screwed.' The cop had long black hair and dusky dark skin. "Detective Elisa Maza," she announced, "What are you doing here?" "I'm just beating the crap out of this big pile of..." "Never mind, I think we ought to go down to the station for some questioning." "I don't have time for that." Janelle lunged for the Detective's gun. They struggled for a minute until Janelle wrenched it away from her. She pointed the gun at the cop. "Sorry Detective but I'm in much too much of a hurry." Janelle slowly backed out of the room, careful to keep the gun pointed at the Detective. Suddenly something grabbed her, yanked her into the air, and ripped the gun away from her. A voice growled at her, "I think that you can make the time." Janelle turned around as best as she could. Then she saw who was holding her up in the air, a seven foot lavender male gargoyle with dark hair. Janelle's mouth dropped open and then she said something that shocked the gargoyle and the Detective. "Holy shit!" Janelle gasped, "There really are more living gargoyles." To Be Continued...
