story that have not been seen in Gargoyles is the sole creation
of the authors. In addition they are in no way related to any
person in the Gargoyles history or past characters. Any

We're not out to infringe on Disney or BVTV copyrights in
any way, shape or form. I write Gargoyles fanfiction solely
because it's a wonderful series, full of promise and adventure.
Fanfiction writers, like myself, enjoy creating their own
episodes to see their favorite characters do thing THEY want.
Anybody who wants to use my characters is welcome too, as
long as they contact me first. Tell me what you plan to do with
them and chances are I won't mind.

Part 1: Discovery
Tim walked down the streets of Miami towards him home. It was noon, and
he had to get home to get on his computer and edit his new invention. With it, he could
be able to manipulate AI intellegence, and make it under the control of the person who
was using the controlling transmitter. It still had a few bugs in it, but he would figure it
out.
Corporations from all over the world were watching him, and he recieved top
dollar contracts to work for corporations as big a Nightstone Unlimited, which just
recently came to power in the area of Miami. He declined all, however, because he
knew what those organizations were made of. As soon as he outlived his usefulness,
it would be unemployment for him. He had a good paying job at the Miami Univeristy
teaching robotics and computer programming. If he took any of the contracts, he
would lose a job there for good.
Tim walked up to his apartment. He opened up his door and looked at the
mess. "If only I could afford a maid..", Tim said as he began to clean up. When
he was finally finished, he went to his computer and logged onto the Internet.
He checked his mail, and was amazed to find a proposition from Xanatos
Enterprises. He opened and read:
From: Xanatos Enterprise, Computer Research and Development Division
Miami Division Miami, Florida
To: Tim Daniels
Miami, Florida
Subject: AI override device.
It has come to our attention that you have created a device that would be of
great use to us. We are willing to pay you $20,000 a week for your services and
would also pay a bonus to be able to use your AI device. Please E-mail a reply
within 2 days, or you will forfeit your chance. Xanatos Enterprises
Tim couldn't believe it. Of all the offers, this one had to be the best. They
were offering 50 times as much money as the other offers. He had to think about this
one. He took one more look at the device of his creation and headed out to eat.
He headed to McDonald's, which was a few blocks down the road. He got a chicken
sandwich and sat down and thought about the offer. What would Xanatos Enterprises want
with a device that can deactivate machines with their own intellegence. It made no sense.
He was a master computer programmer and Engineer, and just happened on a formula that
could work about 6 months ago. He made lots of experiments on simple machines, until
he found a frequnecy that could transmit such a program. It proved to work on the simple
machines, deactivating them completly and scrambling any data it might have had in it, but
larger machines were only now starting to be affected.
Now he was near a major breakthrough in this device, and now everyone wanted it.
He was smart enought to know what these corporations would do to him, but only know he
was having second thoughts about what Xanatos Enterprises might do to him. This would be
an oppurtunity of a lifetime, and he knew the famous names that were associated with
Xanatos. He didn't realize it, but it was dark out. He got a newspaper and stared at the
front cover. It read "Gargoyles Sightings Continued". He had heard about these creatures,
but never had he seen one. He was walking down the street reading the newspaper, when
someone bumped into him. It was some ragged looking guy. He immediatly checked his pocket,
and found his wallet gone. The man broke into a run, and headed down an alley. Tim ran in
pursuit, trying to catch him, because he left most of his cash in that wallet.
The man had made a wrong turn and ended up at a dead end. Tim caught up. "Give me
back my wallet, and you can go," he said.
The man cowered and immediatly dropped the wallet. Tim picked it up. Looking at the
man again, he saw that he was smiling.
He heard someone behind him say, "I don't think he will, mister. I think he will
keep it with him."
Tim whirled around to see 5 punks coming out of the shadows, each with a weapon.
His eyes went to the gun held by one of them. They started to attack him. Tim wasn't dumb.
He had learned to protect himself by taking Self-defense and Karate classes. He was a black
belt in this art. As one punk came close, he ducked under his arm and back-kicked him into
the wall. Another came with a knife, which he blocked, disarmed him with an arm-twist, and
back-handed his face. He went down, but another came up. He charged him, but that was a
bad move, as Tim went up and did a flying roundhouse to his face. He was thrown a couple
of feet. Tim attention was caught on that person, and he did not notice another guy come up
and hit him over the head. Tim immediatly fell down.
The punks immediatly began to beat him. He was bleeding badly, when the leader spoke.
"You beat us up, we beat you up. Now it is time to finish this. "The man with the gun raised it
at Tim. Tim was nearly uncoinscious, and there was nothing he could do.
An inhuman scream erupted through the alley. Tim tried to look up, but his vision was
groggy, and he could not see anything. He saw this figure come out of the sky and kncok the
gun away from the man. The punks were freaking out, some leaving, some fighting. The figure
started after the group. One tried and punched it, but it just dodged, grabbed his arm, and
flung him against the wall. The other two stood baffled, each raising a gun. The figure jumped
onto the wall, and rebounded into the two. At this time, Tim fell uncoinscious.
Tim woke up, finding himself in a hospital bed. Doctors were restrainging him as he was
being tended too. "How did I get here? Who brought me here?" he asked.
"We don't know who brought you here. We do know we found you outside in a medical bed,
and you were badly beaten. Right now, we are baffled as you are as to who brought you," said
one of the doctors.
Tim let the doctors do their work. He checked his pocket, and found his wallet. He
opened it up, and found that everything was intact, including his money and credit cards.
He was about to toss it away when he saw something on it. He looked closer, and found a very
small strip of something on his wallet. He picked off the wallet. It felt like leather. He
had no leather on him, especially blue leather. He doubted those punks would have no leather
too. Tim decided to investigate this after he got out of the hospital.
It was a day before he was able to leave the hospital. He immediatly went to the
police station, and found out that three punks in custody were found at the same place
where he was beat up, one severly injured, the other two covered with bruises. The two with
bruises brought their friend in, and claimed that some demon came and attacked them. When
asked why, one of them blurted out because they beat a man.
Tim decided to remain quiet. The men were in custody, but that didn't explain who was
there that night. He went home and logged onto his computer. He checked his mail. He found
a message from Xanatos Enterprises, this time saying "Warning!" He immediatly opened the file.
"Warning! You have 24 hours to accept our offer, unless you want to forfeit your chance!"
Tim didn't want to pass this up. He immediatly sent a reply that he would accept the terms of
agreement. He then took out his old computer scanner, which he used to scan substances. He
placed the blue leather into the scanner, and had it analyze the fragment. He had to wait for a
half-hour, but when it was don, he look at the screen in shock.
SCAN 1 COMPLETE. OBJECT STRUCTURE ORGANIC
SCAN 2 COMPLETE. OBJECT IS 75.6% SIMILAR TO HUMAN SKIN. UNUSUAL
COLOR
PIGMENTATION
Organic? Skin? What could possibly have skin that was... What a sec. He immediatly got
a copy of yesterday's newspaper from his nightstand, and read the story on the Gargoyle sightings.
It was right there. "Gargoyles have been known to come in many different colors, but the sightings
here have had grey, lavender and blue skin. "
The thing that had saved his life was one of those gargoyles. He logged onto the Internet,
and entered a search database. He typed in the word "Gargoyles" It came up with several listings.
Two of these listings caught his eye, one saying that Gargoyles have been sighted with Xanatos,
after an incident in New York, and one saying rumors about moving statue Gargoyles at the Gothic
Church in Miami. "I think it is time to do a little hacking." He got off the Internet, and logged
onto Xanatos Enterprises. When asked his ID, he activated a device next to his computer, and
immediatly he got a list of viable users and their rank. He logged on as one of the scientists,
and was immediatly asked a password. Again, he activated the device, and recieved a password.
He realized he was in here illeagaly, but he had to find out about thes gargoyles.
He entered the scientific database, and entered the keyword "Gargoyles" again. This time,
he met with something he never would have expected. He got nine names and profiles. They were
marked Goliath, Lexington, Thailog, Demona, Angela, Brooklyn, Broadway, Hudson, and Bronx. He
stared and immediatly clicked on the first name, Goliath. It gave him a picture of a gargoyle.
A real gargoyle. Tim couldn't believe it. Gargoyles weren't just myths or rumors. They were real!
He downloaded everything he could from the database, and started to read. He learned about
Goliath's Clan, and how they came to New York. He learned about Demona and of Thailog's
creation. He learned about the Steel Clan, and Xanatos's numerous attempts to destroy the
Gargoyles. He learned about Macbeth and his employment to Xanatos. This was amazing. He was
reading a life story of creatures that he thought were myths. Then, he noticed a file marked
"Crysta" He opened it up, and logged off Xanatos Enterprises before anyone noticed he was on.
He opened the file, and saw this blue-skinned, red-haired Gargoyle.
Subject: Crysta
Height: 6'1
Weight: 194.7 pounds (Flesh) 714 pounds (Stone)
History: Recently captured gargoyle in the Miami area on May 14. Subject has yet to be analyzed
and sent to Xanatos Enterprises for further study.
May 14?? That was a day after I got attacked! Obviously, this was the gargoyle that had
saved his life. He stared at the image for a minute. For a Gargoyle, she sure was beautiful.
Hmmm....analyzed? That did not good, nor did shipping her away from her home and into New York
away from her clan . Tim looked at his equipment. He knew what he had to do.
Tim accessed Xanatos Enterprise's Miami Builing Floor Plan through illegal access. He
studied it, and grabbed his equipment of computer devices. He would have to do this at night,
because he could not possibly carry a 700 pound statue out of the building. He headed out towards
the building, and waited. He saw that there were no guards in the area, and confused at the thought.
Surely one of the most powerful corporations in the world would have an expert security system?
Must be the guards night off. He saw a truck enter the main gate with the words "Xanatos
Enterprises". It had to be the pickup truck for Crysta. He had to move fast, or forever
lose her.
He went a air shaft located on the side of the building not fenced in. He turned on his
scanner, and found no security beams, or anything. There was simply nothing. Too easy....
He followed the shaft, constantly referring to the map to see where he ws going, and looking
at his scanner just in case. This must not be a very important building, to have such low security.
He finally came upon an open grate, to which should lead to the lab that was supposed to hold the
Gargoyle. He carefully opened the grate, not making a sound. He peaked his head down...and
quickly brought it up as a camera almost caught his face looking at it. "This shouldn't be
too hard...All I have to do is bypass the security cameras and have them replay the last couple
of minutes." He took a wire from his palm computer and waited for the camera to turn around.
Meanwhile, he was entering a program into the computer that would short-circuit it, and make it
do what he wanted. The camera turned, and he place the wire into the camera. He then executed
the program. He hoped it would work, and patched into the Security video system. He took a
chance, and placed his hand in front of the camera. Looking at the screen, he didn't see his
hand. He unplugged the wire from the camera and quickly left the shaft.
The lab was amazing. It was huge and all white. It housed scanners of all shapes, and
lots of computers. He saw two robots in the back, deactivated. What was most important, however,
were the three tubes, one of which held Crysta. She was asleep, and didn't look to happy. He
headed to one of the computers to activate the tube to open.. Just then, he heard a whrring
behind him, as two robots started to come after him. Tim knew this would happen. He whipped out
his AI scrambler prototype, and activated it. As soon as he did, the robots went beserk, and
finally stopped and deactivated. He stared at the device. It actually worked! He quickly
went to the control panel, and unlocked the tube. The tube opened, and he approached the gargoyle.
As he looked down on her, he noticed how peaceful she looked. It was amazing, to see a
gargoyle up close, especially one this beautiful. He quickly scooped her up, and headed for the
shaft.
Crysta woke up. She was disoriented, but when she saw this figure cloaked in black, she
immediatly struggled free and pounced the man. Tim was now on his back, looking into the glowing
red eyes of a female gargoyle. "What are you doing? Who are you? How did I get here!?" she
hissed at him. "I am trying to get you out of here before they take you away from here, up to
New York! If we don't hurry, we will be discovered, and you will be captured again.!" Tim said
quickly. He had hoped she would understand, because he could hear a commotion outside the room.
"And why should I trust you?!"
"Because you helped me, and now I am helping you!." Tim forgot he was wearing a hood, and
immediatly removed it. Recognition flowed through Crysta, as she realized who was trying to save
her.
"You are the one from the mugging I broke up."
"Yes, I am. Can we have introductions later? If we don't hurry, we're dead."
With that, Crysta got off of Tim, who immediatly got up and jumped into the shaft. "This
way," he said.
She caped her wings and leapt into the shaft. The crawled out of the building and
immediatly headed for the city.
The lab technicians entered the lab after recieveing an alert form the robots. They were
immediatly taken off line by some unknown reason. When they saw the gargoyle gone, most of them
choked. Then one scientist smiled and said, "They won't get far."
They got into Tim's car, and headed towards his apartment. When they reached there, Tim
quickly gave her a jacket and hat he had in the back. "You might want to put this on, just in
case someone see's you." Crysta put the clothes on, and they headed inside. Once they got into
the apartment, Tim was baffled on what to say next. He thought he must have sounded stupid when
he said "You want something to eat?"
"Sure," she replied. Tim fixed up something for her while she made herself comfortable
on one of his chairs.
"So, can you tell me what happened that you got caught, and why gargoyles are in Miami?"
"Well, I expected this. Let me start at the beginning. Our clan..."
"Clan? You mean there is more than one of you?" he interrupted.
"Let me finish. Our clan has been living in the southern Florida region for many
centuries. We have been helping the humans and making this area develop. However, back in the
late 1500's, Spainish settlers came to this land, and destroyed our rookery, which at the time
contained most of the next generation. We nearly were pushed to extinction at that time. After
that, human knowledge of our clan was nonexistent, since people didn't see us anymore, and
thought we were dead. Now, our clan has 20 members, with a successful rookery to hatch within
the year. We have made it our duty to protect this city, while protecting our eggs. I was
on routine patrol, when I noticed you being beat up. I intervened, and took you to the
hospital. I accidently cut my skin, but other than that, I was fine from the attack.
I dropped you off at the hospital, where I headed back towards my home. However, before I could
get back home, something struck me, like a dart, and I immediatly began to fall into
uncoinsciousness. I blacked out while falling, and the next thing I knew, I was in your arms.
Now, would you mind explaining why you were trying to save me, besides the fact you were
returning a favor? I never would of thought someone like you would turn out to be a hero for
me."
Tim didn't know what to take that as, an insult or a compliment. He decided to go with
the latter. "I really don't know. The second I realized your species was real, I just became
completly fascinated. I have records of clans all over the world, though the information I have is
sketchy, meaning I know they are there, and how many clan members. I came upon your file, after
finding the skin you lost and analyzing it, and found you had been captured. I knew what they
would do to you, possibly killing you in the process, so I had to help. If you don't believe me,
than take it as an act of insanity."
"Well, I would like to thank you, and thank you for this ice cream."
"I need to go shopping. It was the only thing I had."
There was a pause as the stared at each other.
"So," Tim said. "What are you going to do now?"
"Probably head back to my clan. It was nice knowing you."
Now or never. "Crysta..."
"Yes?"
"Umm.. Could you take me to see your clan?"
"Oh...I don't know if they would trust you with our home's location."
"I think I may already know where your home is anyway."
"Oh, really?"
"Gothic Church?"
"Hmmm....Exactly right. I may as well take you. It would be nice to have a witness for
an explanation of why I didn't come home for a while. Here."
She immediatly picked Tim up in her arms. Tim was a bit confused for a second, as she
lept out the window and started heading north.
"Whoa! Your pretty strong!"
"Comes with the heritage."
"They flew for several minutes, before landing on the rooftop of the Gothic Church.
Crysta immediatly headed for an opening.
"Everyone, I'm home!
"She disappeared into the opening. Tim didn't know wether to head into the opening and
let everyone see him, or let Crysta introduce him. He took a deep breath, and entered the
opening.
"...met a wonderful human, Tim. Oh, and here he is now!" Crysta said
Tim looked around at the place. It looked like a cross between a museam and a large home.
Ancient artifacts and weapons were placed against the wall, with portraits and things next to
them. He saw a TV, a computer in the back, and a couple of couches. Sitted on the couches were
two old Gargoyles, along with a gargoyle dog. Crysta was talking to a large brown male, and she
was pointing right at him. The large one growled a bit.
"I am afraid we haven't been introduced?" Tim managed to say in the glare of the large
gargoyle.
"Oh, this is Dragon. He is our clan leader. Dragon, meet Tim Daniels.
"You are honored in our home Tim. I wish to express my gratitude in saving one of our
clan. It has become of late where few of our members still live..."
"I can see that. Clans of gargoyles all over the world are becoming smaller and smaller.
However, some are growing."
"How do you know that?" Dragon barked at him, obviously annoyed from the remark.
"Uhmm..Internet information."
"Ah, we too have a computer expert. Perhaps you would like to talk with him sometime?"
"I would appreciate that"
"Good. For now, most of our clan is on patrol. It will be good news for them to here
you are well Crysta."
"Why, is there a problem?" Crysta questioned, looking concerned.
"Of late, we think that humans are learning of our location. We could move, but our
rookery is here, and we cannot afford to move so many eggs."
"How many are we talking about?" Tim interrupted, trying to get some information.
"40."
Tim was shocked. If all those eggs hatched succesfully, they could have their whole
clan back to normal. One thing was still bugging Tim.
"Are any of those eggs Crysta's?"
"No. She has not mated nor has a mate yet. She was two young when everyone took on the
mating flight. However, she will have her chance in a few years."
Well, who are these males over here on the couch," Tim said, as he headed over to them.
"Oh these are Sajat and Jann. This here is Rouge, named after Jann after Rouge stole a
lot of his food from him while he was eating it!"
Tim petted Rouge, while he looked to see what the two gargoyles were watching. Then he
went over to the artifacts. "How old are these?"
"They are from 1600 AD. They are assorted things, ranging from works of art, to weapons.
If they were in a real museam today, they would be worth quite a lot."
Tim headed over to Crysta and Dragon again.
"Well, could I be of any service to you? I mean, do you have a problem I could take..."
Strange. He motioned for everyone to be quiet. Sajat turned down the volume on the TV,
glaring at Tim.
A beeping. A very faint beeping.
"Crysta, turn around."
Crysta turned around, and Tim searched her back. Dragon started to growl, but Tim said
not to worry. "I think we have a bigger problem." He found what he was looking for. He plucked
a little disk off the inside of Crysta's wing. Tim immediatly headed over to the computer, and
whipped out his scanner, which he still had from his adventure in the lab. He analyzed the
object, and came with a result that Crysta and Jann gasped to.
SUBJECT ANALYSIS COMPLETE. OBJECT CLASS 1 TRACKING DEVICE.
"I should have known! They planted a tracking device as soon as Crysta was in that lab.
I need to get this outta here before they figure this is the home. Dragon, I need to get to the
beach really fast."
Dragon motioned for Tim to get onto his back, and he leaped on. Dragon took one big jump,
and caught an air current under his wings. He flew as fast as he could to the beach.
"We are being followed"
Indeed for Tim could make out a helicopter closing on their position fast. I still didn't
see them, but they would catch up soon.
"Got any nice manuvering you could do?"
"Hold on."
Dragon did a dive into one of the alleys. The helicopter was closing on them fast. Tim could
make out a logo on the helicopter, but it was too far and too dark to see what it was.
Dragon swooped into an alley, and headed back up on a thermal. He then dropped again into a
narrower alley. Tim could do nothing but hang on, as he was close to hitting the wall a few times.
Dragon then caught another updraft. The copter was definitly confused, but was still gaining. Tim
keeped trying to make out the logo....
"Xanatos Enterprises"
Tim immediatly threw the tracer onto the ground. The copter stopped, then landed in an open
area near the alley. Dragon and Tim escaped back to the church. When they returned, a few more
gargoyles were sitting there, along with Crysta lookin anxious, and immediatly brighting up when
Tim and Dragon returned. "We lost them, but I don't know if they still suspect this church.
They may have had had enough time to track it here, or only had a signal. I can't tell."
"You mean, they may know we are here?"
"I am afraid so."
Dragon immediatly went outside and looked out onto the city. Crysta looked like she was going
to cry, and the other males, who he was not introduced to bowed their heads down.
"There must be somewhere you can go! I mean, I could probably take care of the eg...."
"NO! You cannot handle the eggs! You are not allowed to go near the eggs!! No humans!!"
Dragon yelled at him. Tim was suprised at the outburst.
"Okay, okay... Maybe if I tried and found you a place, would that work?
"We will move only when nescessary. However, we will move our eggs to
where ever you can
find. It will take time, since we cannot move that many eggs, but it will work."
Tim then headed towards the computer, with another gargoyles following him.
AT this time, two
females entered the area, with each being introduced to Tim. Tim gave a hello, then
went back to work.
"Hi. You good at computers? Me too. The name is Intel."
"I can guess where you got the name. Intel Pentium Processer?" Tim looked at the
computer, which just happened to have that logo."
"Yup. What are you doing?"
"Doing a database search of the city of Miami. Looking for a place where a large
amount of people can be stored quietly."
"Hmmm....What's this?" Intel had picked up the AI prototype.
"Uhmm...Please don't touch that. Not to sound rude, but that is a prototype to an
AI overrider."
"Cool." He set it down, and immediatly looked at the screen.
"Let's see...."
The search took a while. Meanwhile, more and more gargoyles were coming in, all being
introuduced to Tim. Most females headed into a secret door in the wall, which Tim assumed to be
the rookery. Others, lounged down and watched what Tim was doing. All were informed of the
possible move. The search, however, was getting nowhere.
"Tim..." Crysta was talking to him.
"Yeah, Crysta?" Tim took the time to turn around, and saw Crysta looking a bit concerned.
"The sun is rising soon. Would you like me to take you home?"
Tim stared at the screen one more time. "I'll save my search and start again tomorrow night."
Tim clicked the mouse a few times, and then reseted the computer. Intel then sat down into the
chair, and loaded Fury 3. Intel might be the computer expert, Tim wondered, but an expert in what?
Tim went into Crysta's arms again, and they flew back to Tim's apartment. They landed, and
Tim got down.
"Well, I had the most wonderful time at your home Crysta, despite the circumstances your clan
may have to face."
"I know. But I know we will preserve. Thank you for being such a wonderful help. When do
you want me to pick you up?"
"Come around 6 tomorrow."
"Okay, see you then."
Tim waved goodbye, as Crysta departed into the air, heading north. Tim headed inside, and sat
down on his couch. He was very tired from being up all night. Luckily, he worked the late shift
at the university, and could sleep all day, and work the classes he had to, get home, and meet
Crysta.
Tim fell asleep, thinking of the things to come for him and Crysta's Clan.
