History:

Beth Maza is the last child of Peter and Diane Maza. She has two older siblings, Elisa and Derek. When she became a young adult, Beth went to Flagstaff, Arizona, attending the University of Flagstaff.

After Elisa was shot, Beth was not in Manhattan. Presumably, she could not get out of her classes.

A few weeks later, Beth dropped by in Manhattan to visit her family, apparently out of school for the time being. During dinner that night, Beth accidentally brought up her brother, Derek, after reminiscing about childhood. Realizing her mistake, she apologized, having remembered that Derek was missing. Elisa reassured the family that Derek is all right, well knowing what happened to him. Later that night, Elisa took Derek, now known as Talon, and revealed the truth to her family. They welcomed Talon and his clan wholeheartedly.

Beth returned to the University of Flagstaff after that. After Elisa disappeared on her Avalon journey, Peter decided to visit Beth, to investigate as to why David Xanatos was constructing on tribal grounds. After Beth picked up her father from the airport, she asked Peter if he wanted to visit her grandfather. He staunchly refused.

Beth and Peter were allowed into Xanatos' construction site by a security guard. As they gaped in horror at the damage caused by a mysterious wind storm the previous night, Xanatos appeared with a group of armed men. Beth proclaimed that the security guard let them in, but Xanatos claimed he had no guards at that time. Beth and Peter were arrested, and released on bail the next morning.

When Beth and Peter arrived at Beth's apartment, they were surprised to see Elisa was waiting for them. After Peter explained that Diane informed them (during the Anansi dilemma) about why Elisa disappeared, he let her know about Xanatos and how they were arrested. Suspicions arose, especially about how maybe Xanatos had set up the Mazas, but Beth realized that only the security guard knew of their presence. They then explained the story to Elisa.

Later, as the sun set, Beth and Peter were amazed at the gargoyles' awakening. The gargoyles went to investigate Xanatos' operation, while Beth, Peter and Elisa took Bronx to sneak into the compound. Elisa asked her father if he wanted to see her grandfather. Peter again refused.

When the Mazas and Bronx arrived, they see the same "security guard" as before. He tried to run away, but Bronx jumped him and held him down. Beth and Elisa were stunned by the fact that the security guard looked like a youthful version of Peter.

As the Mazas inquired as to why the guard was working for Xanatos, he explained about his displeasure for the Native-American culture, which included a soil carving of Coyote the Trickster, and that Xanatos brought jobs to the area. They decided to inform the tribal police, as the carving may have anthropological value.

As they start to take the young man away, he informed them that Goliath and Angela were about to be killed. They looked to the warehouse, and the man disappeared in a mysterious cyclone. They rushed into the complex, and helped free the two gargoyles while fending off Xanatos and the robot Coyote 4.0. As they escaped, Xanatos saw the guard who originally let Beth and Peter in, and began to pursue him.

Beth began to suspect the security guard was Coyote the Trickster, but Peter was skeptical. When they went to report to the tribal police, nobody was there. There were four Kachina dancers. Peter remembered that he did the dance when he was a kid, and played the part of the Coyote. He believed it to be coincidence, but then the Coyote dancer walked to him and revealed himself as the young man. However, Coyote 4.0 suddenly grabbed him and swooped off.

Everyone but Peter now believed it was indeed Coyote. Beth and Elisa left with the gargoyles to help Coyote, but Peter stayed behind, wanting to stay out of the fiasco, unbelieving. Once they arrived, the group began to fight, but all stopped when a Kachina Coyote dancer appeared. Coyote 4.0 accidentally released Coyote the Tricker, confused. Fighting continued, and Goliath drove a steel bar through the robot. The robot still attempted to attack Beth, Elisa and Bronx, but was destroyed when Coyote conned him into destroying the support beams of a building, crushing the robot. Xanatos fled, upset that Goliath had foiled him once again.

After the dancer revealed himself to be Peter, Coyote said goodbye to the group. He vanished, and Beth was amazed to have actually seen him. Peter finally went to see his father, and visits his grave.

After this, Beth presumably returned to University.
