History:

The Cybots are the name for several varieties of robots constructed and used by the corporation Cyberbiotics. They were designed with the intention of operating and defending Fortress Two, and did their job excellently- until Preston Vogel infected them with a computer virus that caused them to set the Fortress on a collision course with Station 1. Since they were powered by energy transmitted from a generator on the ship, Halcyon Renard and Goliath were able to destroy the generator and render the rampaging robots inert. Subsequently, Renard and Vogel, having had a change of heart, saved both Fortress Two and Station 1.

After that, the ship was no longer operated by Cybots, but it was still defended by at least one of the four varieties, the small fliers. These were used rather well against Oberon, draining away his energy. Unfortunately, he then calmed down enough to cast a spell which froze the vast majority of the robots, and sent them crashing to the street.

Presumably, at least the defensive varieties of the Cybots are still in use on Fortress Two.

Powers, Abilities, and Weaknesses:

There were four major varieties of Cybots:

  1. Humanoid machines that operated the basic functions and piloted Fortress Two.
  2. Shorter four-armed robots that ran machines too complicated for a single, two-armed humanoid operator.
  3. Heavily-armed and armored guard robots, built like walking tanks.
  4. Small, flying robots that defend Fortress Two against attackers. These were the most versatile and numerous, able to work in concert to attack and capture foes with energy weapons and hooks. They could also create energy nets capable of restraining high-energy beings and draining their power away.
The primary weaknesses of all these varieties is their lack of free will- they are incapable of performing any actions they were never programmed how to do in the first place, and they are also easy to reprogram and subvert. They are also dependent on the power transmitted to them from a generator inside Fortress Two- if that generator is deactivated or destroyed, the Cybots cease to function.
