The origins of the Cybermage are unknown. In 1995, he began using his powers, apparently derived from a mixture of science and sorcery, to move various New York City landmarks such as the Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building, and the Statue of Liberty into virtual reality. The landmarks were still physically in reality, but they were visually in the virtual world. The Cybermage's ultimatum was simple- he would return the landmarks to the full physical world if all of New York City surrendered to him. Goliath and the Trio tried to track him down, but he found them first, and teleported them into cyberspace as well. The Cybermage planned to leave them stranded there, but one of the clan found the circuits that controlled cyberspace, and broke them, freeing the landmarks and the four gargoyles. Subsequently, the Cybermage was defeated and presumably turned in to the proper authorities. The Cybermage has not been seen since.
The Cybermage could move objects into a dimension known as virtual reality or cyberspace, leaving the objects physically in the real world, but visually in cyberspace. However, his cyberspace could be unravelled by the breaking of a set of control circuits. He also wore protective armor and had a floating platform that enabled him to fly about the city at rapid speed.
