Professor Lydia Duane, along with her colleague, Doctor Arthur Morwood-Smyth, is one of the most intrepid archaeologists in the world. The pair have investigated numerous sites together.
In 1995, they excavated a hill somewhere in Great Britain, where they discovered a cache of artifacts belonging to the legendary wizard, Merlin. These included a magical lyre that played itself, and the Scrolls of Merlin, a pair of parchments believed to be penned by King Arthur's mage himself.
They shipped the Scrolls with them to Manhattan, travelling on the HMS Churchill. Close to shore, they gained the additional escort of Detectives Matt Bluestone and Elisa Maza, NYPD, but they were attacked by Banquo and Fleance. The two henchmen of MacBeth intended to steal the Scrolls, which they succeeded in doing. However, they were eventually reclaimed, and, presumably, given back to the archaeologists.
Several months later, Duane and Morwood-Smyth travelled to Easter Island. There, they met Elisa Maza a second time, but she had somehow lost her memory. They took her to their hotel room, and then asked a friend, Dr. Arnada, to check on her. He diagnosed it as trauma-caused, and suggested they take Elisa to see his neurologist brother in Honolulu- they agreed, but were interrupted by Goliath, who retrieved her. Thinking him some evil monster, they tried to stop him, but he shrugged them off and left. The trio followed, but found Nokkar, an ancient alien sentinel. Duane, Morwood-Smyth, and Arnada decided to ally themselves with the alien.
It is unknown as yet what next happened to Lydia Duane and company.
Prof. Lydia Duane was an archaeologist of the highest caliber, and an honorable character. She was of good athletic level, being a human female of her age.
