Helios is a member of New Olympus's security force, but his hot-headedness and hatred of humans both made him trouble for the Avalon travellers during their visit to that island. He was one of those New Olympians involved in the anti-human riots that plagued Elisa Maza, and attacked Elisa when she tried to get his help to capture Proteus. She took him out with a flying kick. Helios's fate after Maza left is unknown.

In Greg Weisman's Master Plan, Helios would have been an ally of Jove.

Helios had flaming hair, and could create various pyrotechnical effects, such as fireballs.
