History:

Jason Canmore was the eldest of the three Canmore siblings, born to Charles Canmore. He was present (as were his brother and sister) when Demona slew his father, and, of the three, became the most angry and vengeful. While Robyn was impassive and Jon relucant while seeking revenge on the Demon, Jason was fanatical, believing that all gargoyles must be destroyed.

Upon reaching adulthood, they began their career as the Hunters. Hiding under a variety of identities, the Canmore siblings travelled the world, attempting to find Demona, and leaving a trail of violence in their wake. In 1996, lured there by reports of gargoyle sightings, the three came to Manhattan.

Jason came up with the false indentity of Jason Conover, a police officer from another city who had just transferred to the 23rd Precinct. He was partnered with Elisa Maza, who was to show him the ropes, but the pair became mutually impressed with, then attracted to one another.

Meanwhile, the Canmores, as the Hunters, attacked Goliath, Hudson, and Angela on a rooftop, and Jason himself nearly killed the young female. Goliath swore to avenge the attack upon her by killing the lead Hunter.

The next evening, Elisa and Jason investigated a robbery at a Xanatos Enterprises warehouse, where a disinfectant called DI-7 was stored. (It had been invaded by Demona, and destroyed when she battled the Trio.) Afterwards, Elisa invited Jason to come to her apartment for dinner, and they soon found themselves kissing. However, Elisa, confused between her love for Goliath and her new feelings for Jason, broke their embrace, and Jason soon left, after apologizing for moving so fast. Said he, there hadn't been anyone for him in a long time.

Changing back into the garb of the Hunter, Jason returned to their airship, only to discover that Demona, Goliath, Lexington, and Brooklyn had attacked, been captured, then escaped. He was outraged, and became even more incensed when Jon suggested that they could have allied themselves with the Manhattan clan against Demona had not Jason attacked Angela.

Using a tracking device planted on Goliath, they found his clan's home- the clock tower. Robyn was to hit the tower with missiles, destroying the clan, while Jason and Jon swooped in on their air-bikes to finish any survivors. However, at that moment, Elisa came to the precinct house, and Jason, while he didn't seem to care for the risk to everyone else in the building, panicked when she was threatened. He flew down to save her, just as Robyn destroyed the gargoyles' home.

Jason flew away with Elisa in hand. Furious and terrified at the man who had apparently killed her friends, she pulled off his Hunter mask, and was shocked to find it was Jason. To prevent any trouble, he tranquilized her, broke into her apartment, and left her there.

In a scene edited out of the final script for "Hunter's Moon", Elisa confronted Jason in the ruins of the clock tower, questioning why he had to destroy gargoyles. Jason admitted he didn't know before he left.

Jason rejoined his siblings, where they investigated a disk Robyn stole from her temporary employer, Dominique Destine. As they began to unravel the complicated encryptions on the disk, Goliath tracked them down, to their airship hidden in a river blocked by a dam. The three Canmores attacked the gargoyle leader, who soon gained assistance from Broadway and Elisa, despite Goliath's orders to remain behind.

Goliath and Jason, by now bitter enemies, faced off, while Elisa attempted to intercede. As a result, when Goliath punched the eldest Canmore off of the dam, Elisa was caught and fell with him. Both seemed to fall to their deaths.

In reality, both were swept downriver, and Jason took them both back to Manhattan. Along the way, Elisa managed to finally convince them of the error of his ways, and the two managed to interrupt the battle that had erupted between the other two Canmores and the Manhattan clan in St. Damien's Cathedral. Jon, however, panicked when Goliath moved near to Jason, and shot at the gargoyle- but Jason blocked the blast with his own body. Jon, now insane, flew off into the night, swearing that he would have his revenge.

After the Manhattan clan stopped Demona's plans for genocide in the Cathedral, Jason received medical attention, where it was learned that Jon's laser had severed his spine, leaving him paralyzed below the waist. Elisa ended their romance, telling him that while she did care deeply for him, someone else (Goliath, though she didn't say this explicitly) would always come first. He seemed to accept that.

Had the series continued, Jason Canmore would have appeared again. Most notably, he would have become a player in Elisa's romantic life when she and Goliath broke up, believing their relationship to be impossible. When Elisa and Goliath went on a double date, Elisa would have gone with either Morgan or Jason.

Powers, Abilities, and Weaknesses:

Jason Canmore was a formidable warrior, skilled in many techniques. He was also equipped with a number of weapons, advanced and mundane. Now that he is paralyzed below the waist, he may still have his skills, but his effectiveness
in some of them may be reduced.
