Her childhood was spent in an orphanage on the Isle of Man. Here, she was a human girl called Carla, and her best friend was a manx cat called Missy. One day, in the field, a magical meteor struck next to where they were playing, and as a direct result of the radiation, their bodies merged. Quickly after this, she was chosen as a pupil by an old Korean, who had come to the area shortly after the Korean war. He was, in fact, a highly trained Martial Artist, with great knowledge of several art forms. He was also part gargoyle (his grandmother), and for this had certain... traits, like retarded aging. Over a period of ten years, Manxine gained extensive knowledge of ten forms of combat art, and is one of the best allrounders in the world, partly due to her feline reflexes. The last gift she received from her mentor, at the night when narcotics dealers from the Quarryman organization (a little quirk of my own fics, mind you) came to wipe out the village, was a magnificent jeweled katana of magical origin. It was called The Master's Blade, capable of summoning the former owners in a tight spot.
Since then, she has been hunting for the men who killed everyone in her village, with a short break during spring '95, when she turned into a self-pitying alcoholic. But, with the help of the patrons of a place called Teddy's Bar (built on the fine philosophies of the Callahan's Place books), she managed to get dry in less than six months.
Now, her Hunt is over, as the last of the ones pulling the triggers have been killed, and she is staying in Castle Wyvern. She carries a small locket containing the Serenity Prayer, a gift from the guys at Teddy's Bar, and the darn thing actually radiates soothing magical vibrations. Its origin is as of yet unknown.
She is trying to seduce Lexington, but is not entirely too sure about the best way to approach. The only one who knows they're supposed to be an item is Brooklyn, who met Jebediah, the time-traveling son of Lex and Manxine during an incident when Manxine and Alex were taken hostage in a bank robbery.
Since the incident that melded her bodies into one, Manxine has had heightened reflexes and senses, and for some reason, has not had any need for sleep. She's not a tall person, measuring 5' 10", with a weight to match, but, this is an advantage, considering her skill and strength differ greatly from the norm. She is highly proficient with Okinawa weapons (most Martial Arts weaponry) and is trained in nerve blocks, pressure points, etc. and is thus able to induce or relieve pain by simply pressing certain spots on a humanoid body.
She is, however, prone to fits of anger, and she is highly possessive. Should someone attempt to steal from her something that she treasures (like Lexington), whoever made the mistake is sure to be staring at the business end of something fairly deadly or extraordinarily painful.
