When she was younger, Midnight's father left her family, and then her mother died. She was sent to an orphanage. Xanatos almost made it close down on one occasion, which gave her a dislike of the man.
After Midnight grew old enough to live in her own apartment, she did so, but was kidnapped by mercenaries working for Dr. Anton Sevarius. She was taken to Sevarius, who injected her with DNA from Brooklyn and other, unknown sources.
She remained a prisoner of Sevarius for a few more days before she escaped with Brooklyn, who took her to meet the rest of the Manhattan clan of gargoyles. The night she met them, though, she transformed into a mutate that was part gargoyle. However, unlike full gargoyles, she did not enter stone sleep, and could project and manipulate ice.
One night, after returning from being in the city, she discovered that Brooklyn was missing. Suspecting Sevarius's involvement, Midnight went to Gen-U-Tech. She was correct, and during a battle with Sevarius, she rescued Brooklyn, but was injected with another serum which mutated her further, changing her coloring and removing her special powers.
When they returned home, Midnight confessed her love for Brooklyn, and he confessed his love for her in return. There will definitely be more adventures for Midnight in the future.
At first, Midnight was a normal female human with no special abilities. After her first mutation by Sevarius, Midnight had many of the abilities of gargoyles, such as wings that enabled her to glide, a prehensile tail, and claws and talons. However, she did not enter stone sleep. She could also create ice from her hands, and she could manipulate ice as well. After her final mutation, she now had all the abilities of gargoyles, but lost her ability to project and manipulate ice. Unlike other gargoyles, her eyes glow neon green when she is enraged.
