History:

New Olympus is a hidden colony populated by the New Olympians, the descendants of creatures from Greek myth, and Child of Oberon/human crossbreeds. It was founded around the 5th century BC, as a haven for those beings that were persecuted, feared, and hunted by humans. The New Olympians also invited the Olympian gargoyle clan to live there, and they accepted. Using their advanced technology, the New Olympians put a powerful cloaking field up around their island, leaving them unseen by humanity for nearly 2500 years.

In 1996, Elisa Maza came to the isle, sent there by Avalon. She was captured by the island's security force, and brought before the ruling Senate. The leader, Boreas, balancing the safety of his people with reason, decided to allow Elisa Maza to live among his people. However, this failed quickly, as less tolerant New Olympians soon rioted against her and her gargoyle friends. However, when Elisa foiled the escape attempt of the criminal, Proteus, she gained the respect of the New Olympian people, and her freedom. Boreas, realizing that soon more humans would find New Olympus on their own, made plans to make the New Olympians known to the world.

In Greg Weisman's Master Plan, Boreas would send a delegation, including Taurus, Talos, and a 'Juliet'-type New Olympian female who would fall in love with a 'Romeo'-type human male, to the United Nations building in New York City to meet with the leaders of the world. It would also be revealed that three major factions existed within the New Olympians, not counting Proteus.
