The Papyrus of Thoth is an ancient Egyptian artifact of unknown origin. It was presumably written by a wizard or priest in the time of the pharaohs.
The Emir acquired the Papyrus around 1995, and made a deal with David Xanatos- in exchange for the usage of the Pack, he would ensure immortality for the industrialist. He first used the Scroll of Thoth to summon and bind Anubis. When the Jackal God refused to use his powers to bring back the Emir's son, he used the Papyrus in an attempt to merge with the fay as an avatar, an attempt interrupted by Pack member Jackal. The Jackal-Anubis avatar wreaked havoc with his newfound might, until the Emir used the Papyrus of Thoth once more, to move Anubis's spirit into his own body. He undid the damage Jackal-Anubis had done, and then sealed up the temple room, trapping himself and the Papyrus inside forever.
The Papyrus of Thoth contained at least two spells- one to merge the reader and the fay into an avatar, and one to transfer the avatar's fay spirit from another person to the reader's body.
