Petros Xanatos is the father of David Xanatos. A poor fisherman from Bar Harbor, Maine, Petros did not approve of his son's wealth. This was because of the way he earned it- he began it when he received a medieval coin worth $20,000 in 1975. When David went on his own, the two became estranged.
In 1995, Xanatos invited his father to attend his wedding to Fox, and introduced him to the gargoyles Goliath and Demona. When the newlywed Xanatoses and the two gargoyles were transferred back in time by the Phoenix Gate, Petros wound up tagging along.
Finding himself in Scotland in AD 975, Petros adapted quickly, helping
his son and new daughter-in-law defeat a band of brigands. The bandits
were attacking a Norman ambassador and a Norman princess named Elena, who
were en route to Castle Wyvern. They went
with them to the castle, and Petros watched as his son manipulated events-
sending the 10th-century coin to his 1975 self, and an explanatory letter
to his 1995 self, both via the Illuminati- to
ensure his own fortune.
Eventually, Goliath took the group back to their present, and the younger
Xanatos bragged to his father about how he was a self-made man. Petros
was unimpressed- he gave his son a "simple American penny," for, while
it may not be worth much at all then, it could be priceless in 1000 years.
With that as his wedding present, Petros left.
The elder Xanatos returned nearly a year later to see his newborn grandson, Alexander Fox Xanatos. When Oberon attacked, attempting to steal Alexander, Petros helped his son defend against the fay king, gaining a new respect for David in the process. However, while Petros did strike a major blow against the Lord of Avalon- hitting him in the chest with an iron harpoon- he was quickly taken down after that.
Presumably, after the battle ended, Petros Xanatos went home. Beyond that, his fate is unknown.
Petros Xanatos is a hardy and strong-willed man, with a very high tolerance for things paranormal. He is highly fit for a man his age, likely due to his life as a fisherman.
