A mortal, RC’s mother is none other than the original Second Matriarch, Artemis, now among mortals as Diana, a singer at a Parisian night club. Against her mother’s wishes, she joined the Black Sword when they were located in San Francisco ten years ago. Then her psionic powers emerged and grew, and Zanthé trained her to use her telepathy and telekinesis for the Black Sword. When RC was able to totally control not only her powers but the Wastelands, also known as the Dreamtime and the astral plane, she was moved up to her mother’s former position. However, when she accidentally touched Zanthé’s mind, she saw the potential for evil inside and left for New York to start anew.
There, she met and fell in love with Colm MacKenzie, then a night security guard for Gen-U-Tech, and who later became the mutate Claw. However, the Black Sword did not tolerate deserters. One night, while throwing a little get-together with her new friends, Lexington, Angela, Brooklyn, and Arin, Zanthé paid her a little visit. The Black Sword had already moved to New York, and RC, having allowed her abilities to sit unused for five years, did not know that. She was forced to either rejoin the Black Sword and choose a liaison between the Black Sword and the fay, or die. Lexington, who followed her along with Claw, volunteered for the position rather than see his friend die. Since then, RC has become more and more like family to the clan in the Labyrinth, though she bends Zanthé’s law and orders, and protects her friends and family first.
An intelligent woman with a black belt in aikido, she also possesses a T-3 in telepathy (see Cyrway’s Magic and Psion Page for a ratings chart) and T-5 in telekinesis. As the librarian aide at New York University, and a skilled hacker, she also has access to information anywhere on the Internet.
