History:

The Stone of Destiny is an ancient, sentient object. It originated in Ireland, and was later taken by the Scots to Scotland, where it was used to crown their High Kings. The Stone was used for a time as the stone that held the sword, Excalibur, and was presumably returned when the sword was drawn by King Arthur. Constantine, in 995, and MacBeth, in 1040, were both crowned as High Kings of Scotland upon the Stone. Centuries later, it was taken to England, where it was placed in the royal throne in Westminster Abbey. The British kings were crowned upon it thereafter. King Arthur and Griff encountered the Stone in 1996, and it transported them to Manhattan to find Excalibur.

In late 1996, the Stone was returned to the Scottish people. Greg Weisman planned to do a story featuring this historic event.

Powers, Abilities, and Weaknesses:

The Stone is sentient, and has various magical abilities, such as teleportation. However, it can only be convinced to use these abilities by the answering of a riddle. When active, the Stone glows blue.
