Taurus is a descendant of the legendary Minotaur. His father was the security chief of New Olympus, but was slain by the criminal Proteus during his last escape attempt before the arrival of the Avalon travellers. Taurus became the security chief in his father's place.

In 1996, Elisa Maza arrived on New Olympus. Taurus, along with security officers Kiron and Helios, took her to the Senate chambers to have Boreas decide her fate. Taurus expressed the opinion that, due to the fate of his ancestor, the Minotaur- who was imprisoned, starved, and killed by a human "hero"- he believed humans to be dangerous. Taurus, despite the fact that he hated and did not trust Maza, allowed her to go freely on the island as long as she followed the rules.

When a riot arose against Elisa and her gargoyle friends, Taurus took her to the prison, so as to maintain order and protect her. When Elisa escaped with the help of "Goliath"- really Proteus- Taurus swore to recapture her. However, when she helped recapture Proteus, Elisa Maza earned his respect. With his support, Boreas permitted her to be free to leave the island.

In the Goliath Chronicles, Proteus escaped, and found his way to New York City, seeking revenge on Elisa and Goliath. Taurus pursued, and, with the help of Elisa, Hudson, and Angela, he tracked down and recaptured Proteus. He took Proteus back to New Olympus, and he was returned to his cell.

In Greg Weisman's Master Plan, Taurus would have been the leader of a delegation sent to Manhattan to greet the outside world.

Taurus is physically powerful. He was able, on one occasion, to fling both Angela and Hudson off of himself when they pinned him down. He is also very tough. In addition, Taurus is rather intelligent, like any good police officer.
