History:

Preston Vogel is the right-hand man of Cyberbiotics CEO, Halcyon Renard. He has held that position for several years, and Renard valued him for his loyalty and integrity. The Puck, however, considered him "the stiffest and most wooden mortal on the face of the earth"- he was the fay's model for Owen Burnett. However, unlike Owen, Vogel has a streak of ruthlessness in him, and can occasionally put his own interests before those of his employer.

In 1995, Vogel, recognizing the waning strength of the company, made a deal with Fox Xanatos. He would sabotage the new, completely automated Fortress Two airship, forcing its destruction. That disaster would have been the final nail in Cyberbiotics' coffin. In exchange, Vogel would come out a rich man. He carried out this plan, until the interference of Goliath disrupted things by giving Renard a fighting chance to save his company. Torn between his loyalty to Renard and his deal, he chose to help his superior and friend save the air fortress. Vogel confessed his deeds afterwards, and, on Goliath's advice, Renard forgave him.

A few months later, Renard's already-bad health worsened, and he travelled to Prague with the hopes of transferring his spirit into the form of the legendary Golem, clinging desperately to life. They allied themselves with local crimelord Tomas Brod to acquire it, and Vogel performed the Hebrew incantation to animate the Golem. Vogel stood by Renard through this crisis, including when Goliath persuaded him to return to his own body, and this retain his honor if not his life.

After that, Preston Vogel handled most of Halcyon Renard's day-to-day business, such as the construction of a facility in the Guatemalan rain forest. However, Vogel was much more lax on moral issues than his superior. When a clan of gargoyles disrupted their construction efforts in Guatemala, he hired the mercenaries Jackal and Hyena to destroy them. The cybernetic twins were defeated by the Guatemalan clan and the Avalon travellers, leading Vogel to abandon the project.

Vogel accompanied Renard to see his newborn grandson, Alexander Fox Xanatos. There, Xanatos' father Petros noted the intense similarities between Vogel and Owen, and inquired if they were related. Vogel politely denied this. He also assisted Renard in battling against Oberon when he came to steal Alexander, despite the fact that he questioned giving any assistance to the Xanatoses.

Neither Preston Vogel nor Halcyon Renard has been seen since.

Powers, Abilities, and Weaknesses:

Preston Vogel was a fit but average human with no superhuman abilities. However, he had a keen mind and a razor-sharp sense of business savvy. His only loyalties are to Renard and himself, though he has sometimes placed himself a little higher.
